Disaster Relief - First Responders Team

Our Mission:

We exist to impact the world for Jesus Christ by responding with the love of Christ wherever and whenever disaster strikes.

We serve mankind by providing and coordinating loving assistance to people in need as a result of hurricanes, floods, fires, earthquakes, man-made calamities and other such http://www.valleybaptist.org/uploads/DR-people.jpg circumstances both local and global. Our desire is to be the obedient servants in response to God’s direction to educate, encourage, and engage our people to respond to disasters wherever in the world in the spirit of God's grace and mercy.

How to be Engaged?

California Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Training is available to all believers who have a passion to serve others.  Disaster response is a unique mission experience because of the sudden nature of the event, difficult conditions, and high expectations from other relief organizations and survivors.  Disaster Relief volunteers must be very flexible! http://www.valleybaptist.org/uploads/DR-Cali2.jpgServant work with our team does not require past experience or expertise in equipment. Our volunteers are from all age groups. You may be called to serve by sharing God’s word and love through giving a cup of water, preparing a hot meal, or by clearing debris from a homeowner’s yard. To serve you must attend an orientation and receive training in one or more of the following areas:

·Chainsaw Training

·Communication and HAM Radio License Preparation and Test

·Damage Assessment

·Disaster Relief Administrative Assistant

·Disaster Relief Chaplaincy (Crisis Counseling and Evangelism)

·Disaster Operation Center Training

·Heavy Equipment / Skid-Steer Loader Operation and CAT Excavator

·Incident Command Training

·Mass Feeding

·Water / Purification System
